主要从事贝类遗传育种、生物技术与水产养殖等研究,主持/参与国家863计划项目、国家科技支撑计划项目、科技部蓝色粮仓科技创新专项项目、国家自然科学基金项目、广西自然科学基金重点项目等省部级项目40余项,获广东省、海南省、农业部、国家海洋局等科技奖励9项次,发表论文150余篇,出版著作4本,授权专利29项,获得国家审定新品种1个,培养研究生40余人。广西水产一流学科(培育)建设项目负责人。
